Best drivers for HD 2600XT AGP?

Hi, I recently got this card knowing that finding drivers may be a bit of an issue. I am currently using the latest AGP hotfix drivers (8.8 I guess) and it's working fine... I'm wondering if there are any better options out there.

I have Windows Vista, so Omega Drivers are currently out of the question (though they would be my first choice for anyone who cares). How are the DNA drivers for Vista? Are there any other third party drivers out that both support the HD 2000 series and Windows Vista that I could try? Should I just stick with the hotfix drivers, as they seem to be working decently well?

Thanks in advance!

P.S: Does ATI update the AGP hotfix drivers and if so, can I expect a 8.9 release anytime soon? Thanks again!

P.P.S: Any news on the Omega Vista drivers? :-/

Re: Best drivers for HD 2600XT AGP?

Take the 8.11RC1 for a spin... they work awsome for my 2600PRO AGP card..
and they don't need any special tweak - just install it.. and thats it...

i recommend u to first uninstall the older drivers first before installing the 8.11RC1.

this is your only option since i don't see any sign from ATI about the 8.10 HOTFIX for AGP cards...

they work solid, solves many problems, fast and smooth...
and they are the latest

good luck...

Until further notice, "if it ain't broke, don't try to fix it."

As for P.S.: CatalystCatcher posted somewhere that the AGP Hotfix drivers are actually released at the same time as the official drivers. The problem is with whoever updates the links on the website for downloads. So, I assume some patience is in order if one is needing the newest hotfix.

As for P.P.S.: I'm certainly not Omega and cannot speak for him. I used to be an avid fan of Omegadrivers. BUT, that said, it's been nearly a year since he released any version of drivers for XP. I don't even know if he's using Vista to be able to do any tweaks. So, with that expressed, I simply wouldn't hold my breath on any Omega drivers in the foreseeable future. Only HE knows for sure.
