ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 / Vista 32

Hello,

I have DELL Inspiron 6400 Laptop with ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 in it. While I would like to watch movies on TV I need the Catalyst Control Centre to enable Theather mode. With driver downloaded from DELL Support site it is clear that Theater feature doesn't work properly while my TV didn't notice it.

Anyway, I performed the procedure as explaned on http://www.hardwareheaven.com/modtool.php and installed modified driver. After reboot I can't find anyware the Catalyst program to launch it. I also found out that the folder ATI Technologies is empty?? Instead another folder "ATI" with "CIM" subfolder was created but without any exe file... ATI Catalyst Install Manager is seen under uninstall list...

I performed the same procedure with two versions of ATI Catalyst, "8.9" and "8.8.", downloaded from this site. I wanted also with version "8.10" but has an empty link...

After installation I also run "DH-ATIfileversion.exe". The program responded with "Version Database not found"....

I also have to mention, that I have installed "Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable", as I read in some post of that forum.

Can someone help me what to do in order to get ATI card working properly.
Many thanks in advance.

Reinstall the regular drivers, and when you enable the second screen in CCC, just drag your media player over there (I recommend Media Player Classic, or VLC) and then, when you full screen your movie, it should expand to fix the screen.

That's the way I've always done it... Never used theater mode before...
