help with only having 1 monitor in display settings
I have a Dell latitude C640 laptop. I previously had windows XP and had dual monitors working. It stopped working, I have no idea what I did to make it start working again and then it stopped again. I recently installed Vista Home Premium 32-bit. Dual Monitor still does not work. When installing Vista I reformatted the hard drive - thus losing any drivers that were for the Radeon Mobility 7500 chipset. I downloaded what I thought was the driver for the 7500 - happened to be something else.Thought I seen a thread that basically indicated I was SOL with Vista on this.My is set to default monitor with the standard VGA Graphics Adapter. My monitor properties are grayed out. Is there anyway to get the dual monitors to work. I have tried hooking up different monitors/tv hoping to 'force' the second monitor. Nothing works. And yes I shut down the laptop hook up the other monitor, start that up, then start the laptop. The laptop was used with no support. As far as reinstalling the video driver (was suggested on a differnt site) I don't show one listed - just the graphic adapter which I am assuming is the video driver? Appreate Any/all ideas?

Re: help with only having 1 monitor in display settings
you must manually install the vista driver available with vista..
Go into the device manager, go to the display adapter, right click the adapter and select update.. then select from a list, and then display entire list... search under display adapter, ATI, find the ATI 7000/7500 Series Driver.. and force it's installation... this is not a guarantee
