Duplicate Displays & Hotkeys
I am having an issue with reverting from Duplicate Display mode in Catalyst under Windows 7.
First, my details: Radeon HD4850 Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bits Catalyst driver 9.9 (9.8 also behaved the same way) I have setup Hotkeys in Catalyst for Enable Extended Mode, Enable Duplicate Mode, Switch amongst displays, and Disable non-primary displays. Those 4 hotkeys I have setup work fine, except the one for Enable Duplicate Mode which is acting weird. Basically, it works the first time I use it i.e. it will enable Duplicate Mode, but pressing the keys again will not disable Duplicate Mode. furthermore, it seems like every Hotkey I press after using the one for Duplicate Mode is ignored, even the one for disabling all non-primary displays. At this point I need to reboot or restart the runtime for Hotkeys to be accepted again (until the next time I use Duplicate Mode Hotkey). Anyone else seeing this issue, before I investigate as something specific to my system? |

Also happens with 9.10. Since my last post I also tried on a XP SP3 machine and the result is the same. I would appreciate if at least someone else could confirm if they see the same issue or not. Am I doing something blatantly wrong, or is this a known bug?

Re: Duplicate Displays & Hotkeys
I don't have a second monitor to test, unless a HDMI TV will work.
It's still kind of early, for some of our regulars that may have experience with this, be patient you'll get a reply. I promise

Re: Duplicate Displays & Hotkeys
I'm assuming that you are using ATI's Hydravision? If so I don't have any direct experience with it. However, I will point you to a possible alternative solution.
I've been using dual monitors since the WIN 95 days, when I used an S3 card and a Voodoo Banshee to get it to work ![]() Back then, I stumbled upon UltraMon and haven't used anything else since, for controlling dual monitors. It's widely acknowledged to be the best application there is for multiple monitor software. It's available for D/L with a free 30 day trial period here: Realtime Soft UltraMon I'm currently using the 3.0.7 Beta version with Win 7, and it's working quite well. It won't cost you anything to give it a try.

Re: Duplicate Displays & Hotkeys
No, I am not using Hydravision, just the catalyst control center. This issue is still in the 10.3 drivers as well.

Re: Duplicate Displays & Hotkeys
I've never bothered using any HotKey settings to change display options. I, personally, don't change modes often enough to feel it to be necessary.
Has it really been five months since you lasted needed to change yours? (j/k)
