Does AVIVO Video Converter work on Windows 7 x64? I'm fairly confident it was listed among the components to be installed, yet the wizard is missing.

Yes, it does work. I just tested it and converted an AVI file to MPEG-4.

Remember, you have to open CCC in BASIC mode to see the AVIVO Converter Wizard.

Also, what you referred to in the other, locked thread, about monitors sleeping and the system seeming to be frozen for a bit when you try to come out of sleep mode: I've had that on a very rare basis. It's almost like the whole system has been put into some kind of standby mode. I had it happen prior to installing these drivers and while I was still using the 10.2 RC drivers just earlier tonight. But, it seems to be very, very random. This time, I waited for a minute and everything started working fine without a reboot.

EDIT: Also, I don't recall having any "vertical gray screen" since updating my DirectX with the Feb, 2010 update. I may be talking too soon, but, I'll report if I get one again.

Re: ATI Catalyst™ 10.2 Display Driver for Windows Vista/Win 7

Thanks, Dyre.

It seems that the installation procedure isn't that reliable, because the wizard definitely wasn't in the CCC, even though I picked AVIVO during installation and later it was listed among the components to be uninstalled when I tried that. I reinstalled the whole package, but that didn't help either, so then I uninstalled just the AVIVO component and installed it from it's individual package (it's on the Catalyst Drivers page, under ATI Radeon Video Card Drivers/Optional Downloads) and now it's finally there.

Re: ATI Catalyst™ 10.2 Display Driver for Windows Vista/Win 7

Update on the monitor coming out of sleep/hibernate mode:

Twice now: first prior to leaving for work, and then now, after getting home from work: When I bring the monitor out of sleep mode, I get a mouse cursor just fine....for several moments. But, it will finally freeze in place and I have to do a hard reset of the system.

As mentioned previously, it did come out of the state after several moments prior to this. But, these last two times it simply locked up the system. There's no input recognized from the keyboard at all.

Not sure if, while trying to fix one thing [vertical grey screens] AMD/ATI has broke something else. ???

Re: ATI Catalyst™ 10.2 Display Driver for Windows Vista/Win 7

I've been having that issue ever since I got Windows 7. A Windows patch that addressed some similar issues seemed to make the problem less pronounced, but it was a long time ago so I suppose that you already have it. If you leave your system for a while, it should unfreeze after a period of time without restarting, but the time required is fairly random.

This fixed my problems

AMD Game Forums - 10.2 CrossFire Problems

"Use Regedit and look in the registry and search for all instances of 'EnableUlps' and set to 0. Reboot.
This will put it back to the way you like it. ULPS stands for Ultra Low Power State, a feature to put the 2nd card into a very low power state.
You could also check in Windows Advanced Power Setting that the PCI Express - Link State Power Management setting is Off."

There's a possibility that this problem has existed longer than I realize. The main reason I would not have noticed is due to the fact that, if I let the monitor go to sleep, the backlight stays on. I've been told that this is normal for HDMI connection. So, I simply turn off the monitor when I'm going to be away for extended periods.

If I turn off the monitor, when I come back to the PC later, turn on the monitor, and move my mouse or keyboard, I'm at the Desktop immediately. I don't recall ever having any system freeze doing it this way.

Re: ATI Catalyst™ 10.2 Display Driver for Windows Vista/Win 7

ATI support now offers a new version 10.2 hotfix for their Catalyst reference drivers to address an issue causing the game to hang after applying DirectX 11 from within the game when playing under the Radeon HD 4700 and 4800 series accelerators.
