3870x2 ?
i have an asus 3870x2 running on a asus p5e3 deluxe board with core2 quad, 8 gigs of ram, and a thermaltake 850 watt power supply. i loaded windows 7 home premium 64 bit and got the 10.2 driver package from the ati site. when i run the windows experience index it crashes on the direct 3d part. does this matter? seems to work okay for everything else. do i need the crossfire x application also? or is my card bad?

Re: 3870x2 ?
Sounds to me more like a driver problem. Try with an older driver and see if that helps.

Re: 3870x2 ?
older drivers did not help. reloaded 10.2 package and now it crashes every time you wake the pc up from sleep state. would going to a 5850 sapphire toxic card help?

Re: 3870x2 ?
My previous card broke a while ago (Sapphire HD 2600XT), and one of the first symptoms was crashing the system in 3D applications (other were: crashes on a video which uses DXVA, and after a few days artifacts in Windows Aero, followed by a black screen and no video signal).
I'm not saying this is the case with your card, but if you have a chance try it in another system, just to be safe. |
