ATI Radeon HD 4870 Drivers

In someone's honest opinion, what do you think the best drivers are for the HD 4870?

Which ones are you using and what problems are you having?

ATI still supports the 4800 series cards, so I'd stick with the most recent ones. I've had good luck with the 10.3's

Re: ATI Radeon HD 4870 Drivers

I'm using the 10.3b with opengl4 support and ati stream 2.1 installed, seems to run pretty well. This is on a 4890 though, but should be the same.

I'm using 10.3.

I'm playing Age of Conan and I get some weird things happening for DX10, I suppose it's the game though.

Re: ATI Radeon HD 4870 Drivers

Crossfired 4870s here.

With all the numbers floating around, 10.3, 10.3a, 10.3b, 10.3zxy I'm not sure WHICH set I'm using. They are the ones you get when you use the 'look-up' feature on the AMD web page.

Anyway, with the exception of a known issue with IL2 1946 in OGL, they are the best set I've used yet.

Re: ATI Radeon HD 4870 Drivers

Yeah I have no idea, I think it's just the game and the way they use DX10. I just stopped using DX10 and am back to DX9 which is slightly disappointing.

No worries, I have a HD 4870 1GB with the 256-bit memory interface, it works well, I might get another to Crossfire them for better performance.
