What's the best (performance-wise and "low number of bugs"-wise) 32-bit Windows 7 driver for the ATI Xpress 200m / 1150 integrated laptop videocard?
I am currently using the driver from Windows Update. Should I install the last available version provided by ATI (legacy driver 10.2)? Or should I get another version? The ATI website does not seem to offer driver versions 10.2 and below for Windows 7 as a download, only the XP / Vista versions. (The Vista versions of the drivers are available only for Xpress 1150 and Xpress 200, not 200m). Will mobility modder allow the drivers to install properly in Windows 7, if I am modding the Windows XP / Vista drivers? The videocard will be used to play mostly old games that support up to Pixel Shader 1.4. I will also be watching H264 videos (with CoreAVC). The change logs between the versions can be viewed here: filehippo.com/download_ati_catalyst_xp/changelog/7067/ Radeon Xpress 200 / 1150 series Wikipedia article: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xpress_200 Last edited by galacticninja; Aug 26, 2010 at 11:57 AM. |
