Also, when you click to download the latest 10.9 Avivo video convertor, you will download avivo video convertor 10.8 instead 10.9

I installed them through Steam just fine. The problem is that I have no idea if the application profiles were also updated or I have to download them manually.

Memory still stays at full speed even with 0% activity. Also, I'm not sure if that was supposed to change, but when they said "UVD clocks will now return to normal speeds after switching from HD to SD content", I was hoping GPU would now stay at low frequency when I watch SD television, but that's not the case.

Is there a way to enable crossfire after cat 10.5 like forcing it?
I'm still loosing crossfire on every new version of catalyst.

IvanV, I read somewhere that clocks on 32-bit OS are OK with enabled/disabled ATI overdrive while 64-bit users still complain about clocks. What about you, do you keep ati overdrive tab enabled or disabled? It is very weird that ATI dont fix such a problem. Regards. |

I keep it disabled so that's not a fix and yes, it's a 64-bit OS.

Re: ATI Catalyst™ 10.9 for Windows Vista/Win 7
Nothing too serious.
First there's the memory clock issue. (As you know) When there is no significant load on the graphics card, both GPU and its memory should clock down. The GPU does that, but the memory doesn't and it's been that way with the last few driver releases. The second issue is the GPU clock behaviour when watching video. When viewing SD video, the GPU should stay at low speed and for HD video it should throttle up to full speed. Apparently, with previous driver releases, if you watched an SD video right after an HD one, the GPU would stay at it's full frequency. ATI claims to have resolved this one. What I see on my machine is that GPU goes to full speed while I watch TV on my computer, even though it's just SD. I hoped they changed that, but obviously not.

Re: ATI Catalyst™ 10.9 for Windows Vista/Win 7
After exiting a game, my memory went down to 500 and gpu 507. As always. Or is the CCC lying?
I don't see any gpu speed changing when I watch videos SD or HD, unless I am doing something wrong or it only happens with Blue Ray only HD movies.

I never overclock anything. It leads to troubles.
If the problem appears only to people who overclock, I can't say I am surprised if it is not top priority for AMD to fix.

Re: ATI Catalyst™ 10.9 for Windows Vista/Win 7
I've never OCed my card and memory won't go below 1000MHz.
I went to the Overdrive tab and told it to load default settings, no change.

Have you unlocked it and then set the speed manually?

Re: ATI Catalyst™ 10.9 for Windows Vista/Win 7
I can slide down the "High Performance memory clock settings" slider and the card accepts the clocks, but then I'd need to get them manually back up when I wanted to game. As soon as I return the High Performance frequency back to it's nominal value and hit apply, the memory clocks jumps back up.
Maybe someone messed up the allowed memory clock range for 4670. I read that when the issue first appeared (on most cards) it was to fix issues for people with dual monitor setups (higher clocks brought higher voltage to some circuitry which was apparently needed to make good signal for two monitors). Maybe they left it on 4670s on purpose (I think that even the idle GPU clock used to be a bit lower than 300MHz which is it's value now). Who knows. BTW, BlueMak, I noticed that ATI made a 10.9 hotfix specifically for 4870 X2s and 4850 X2s, you may want to check it out.

Anyone reported scaling issue? Still having them I don't have them since July set.

Re: ATI Catalyst™ 10.9 for Windows Vista/Win 7
Just FTR, the 10.9a Hotfix drivers are not "just" for the 4xxx X2 cards. There are some other fixes that are good for all cards.
A little explanation about these Hotfix drivers and why they come out so fast after the official release: It takes a few weeks to get the WHQL certification from Microsoft once those are submitted. In the interim after that, the driver team is still at work on fixes and other issues. The Hotfix drivers are the result of that extended work and do not have the WHQL certification as a result. It's also why they are not officially supported. |

Re: ATI Catalyst™ 10.9 for Windows Vista/Win 7
and don't forget that hotfix drivers are full installations. They are not patches. So you can have 10.8 installed, then go to 10.9a and later install 10.10
Personally if a hotfix is out at the same time as the WHQLs, i would install the hotfix along with the latest CAPs.
