Version info:
  • DNA-ATi 10.10c.2 (10.10c catalyst hotfix | 2nd DNA build).
  • ATI CrossFireX™ Application Profiles (10.10 – October 13th)
  • ATI SB drivers 10.10(North Bridge/South Bridge/USB)
  • ReadyDriverPlus v1.2 (can be found in the “\Packages\Apps\DNA-ATi-RDP\” folder in the download package).

Beta:
  • DNA_7 / DNA_VISTA installers. Work has been started on a updated install system.

  • ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 support
  • ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650 support
  • ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4850 support
  • ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4870 support

Added:
  • Default installers (the Catalyst 10.10c HotFix had no native Windows Vista installer or INF)
  • Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 and 2010 Redistributable packages (were missing from the default Catalyst 10.10c HotFix drivers)

Optional:
  • HD 6xxx settings on HD 5xxx
  • Functional. Unlike other modded drivers that you might have found on the web enabling the HD 6xxx features the DNA-ATi 10.10a drivers come with a fully functional Catalyst Control Center. You will have the exact same options as the HD 6xxx would have.
  • ACTIVATE. To use the HD 6xxx settings on your HD 5xxx copy the 2 INF files from the \Packages\Drivers\DNA_6xxx_on_5xxx_b1\ folder to the \Packages\Drivers\Display\W7(6A)_INF\ folder
  • DEACTIVATE. To use the default DNA-ATi HD 5xxx settings copy the 2 INF files from the \Packages\Drivers\DNA_Original\ folder to the \Packages\Drivers\Display\W7(6A)_INF\ folder
  • .!.WARNING.!.. Please use this at your own risk, I’m not responsible for burning PC’s or Overcooked Laptops while using these experimental settings that are not meant to be run on th HD 5*** series of cards/mobility

10.10 is valid and the latest avaliable for the 2600 series yes. If it's the best is hard to say though. I don't think they're making that many improvements on such old cards anymore but you can always try.
