Re: ati x2300

First of all, if the openGL driver is broken you should try and uninstall all graphics drivers, run a driver cleaner tool to remove all leftover files and reboot before you try to install the driver again. This might fix the broken driver.

Even though the HD2xxx series cards should be supported in the latest drivers you might get a better result with the 10.2 legacy driver. Try that one if the latest driver won't work for you.

ATI Catalyst? Legacy Display Driver

Otherwise this should be the latest avaliable driver.

ATI Catalyst? Mobility Display Driver

The link you listed is not up to date since the latest avaliable driver there is 8.12 which is 2 years old.

Re: ati x2300

I don't think this is the HD2300 but the previous model naming system entirely so it might not support open GL

Re: ati x2300

If it's an x-series card your only bet is the legacy driver. Though, it can't be 2300 then, it's more likely x1300 in that case.

Of course it supports OpenGL. It's just showing symtoms of a broken driver.

However, to the OP, you do mean Windows 7 and not 8, right? You might even have to consider that the notebook is to old to fully work with 7 and that this might be the reason for your problems.
