Toshiba A305 ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470, Vista x64 Driver help

My specs: Toshiba Satellite A305-S6843 laptop
GFX card: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3400 series
OS: Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit SP2

I've never really had many issues with my GFX card before, until I recently bought the game Amnesia: The Dark Descent. Within a couple minutes of starting the game, I ran into issues where the entire display would flip upside down, and sometimes the display drivers would just give out entirely, making the game practically unplayable.

I looked around and found it was an issue with older drivers, that Toshiba does not support AMD, and was pointed to Mobility Modder to try and solve the issue.. I followed the instructions for Mob Modder 1.2.1.0 and successfully updated the drivers to the ones linked through the Driver Heaven mirrors (Catalyst 8.12), but the issues with Amnesia still persist. I noticed that the drivers on ATI's site for my card and OS are more recent (11.3), but after trying the same steps to mod the new drivers, it still does not recognize my system.

Is there any fix to this issue, or am I doing something wrong? I'd rather not have payed for a game that I can't even use..
