"Catalyst install manager has stopped working"
For months now, I could never update my drivers. I only have a very basic understanding of all this, and honestly don't know what to do.
Recently, I bought BRINK for PC. Laggy beyond belief. I hear there was a hotfix made just for that, so I go and get it. However, I get a simple "Catalyst install manager has stopped working" error. Windows then tells me there may have been compatibily issues, and it can go again using reccomended settings, but not a single thing changes. Even worse, since it's a hotfix, I need to update my drivers to the latest version for that to work, but I've been stuck at version 8.7, since the error denies me any attempt to update to version 11.2. I've tried this guide posted on this forum some three years ago, and every other guide seems to mirror it. Am I simply doing something wrong? Is it my computer? I have Windows 7 Home premium, 64 bit. According to DxDiag, I have an ATI Radeon HD 4350. My driver is version 8.773, downloaded September of 2010. |

Re: "Catalyst install manager has stopped working"
I think this has to do with you having an out of date Visual C++ 2010(or 2008) redistributable that the installer requires run windows update (make sure to install Microsoft updates) and see if there are any updates for those. Otherwise you can get them
Download details: Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x64) and Download details: Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x64) If you don't have them install them and then have windows update install their respective updates and hopefully that should fix your problems.

If, for any reason, you haven't Activated your Windows installation, that's the first thing you should do before proceeding. Good luck!
