When installing Windows XP SP2 in a Desktop, after formatted, i got this message:
![]() This incompatibility "Battery" is the BIOS Battery? I already put a new BIOS Battery with no luck... I clicked "YES" and the installation finished with no problems. I'm afraid this could originate some system stability conflit/issue Any suggestion? Thank You. |

Re: Installing Windows XP Sp2 Problem...
Should be fine, I wouldn't worry about it. Logo testing in XP is a crock, never seen one for "battery" before though.

Re: Installing Windows XP Sp2 Problem...
Never happened to me. Thanks for your support.
I Have found the specific error in setupapi.log in WINDOWS directory: #E366 An unsigned or incorrectly signed file "c:\windows\inf\syssetup.inf" for driver "Battery" will be installed (Policy=Warn, user said ok). Error 1168: Element not found. Element not found? Wtf? |

Re: Installing Windows XP Sp2 Problem...
This wouldn't happen to be an nLite or a customized version/install of XP, would it?
I know that this can come up on streamlined (shrunk) or customized installs of XP. Programs like nLite can leave out a couple files such as the battery.inf file, or when you use a custom winnt.sif file to do an unattended install you need to be careful on how you set it up as you might leave something out, or put something in the wrong place. |
