Vista 5308 & HIS Radeon 9250 256MB
At work, we were bringing up a test box to see how well Vista works in a Server 2003 forest. Well, to prep for it, we took a Dell Optiplex GX270 and upped the RAM to 2GB, bought a 2nd hard drive to install the OS to (so we can keep XP Pro on the machine still) and bought a 256MB video card (as described above). Well, Vista keeps saying this card has 0MB of video memory for some reason. I know that the 5308 drivers from ATi don't have the 9250 as one of their supported cards. I was thinking of trying to mod the .inf in the 5308 drivers to detect the 9250 and install to see if that will tell Vista the card has 256MB of memory, but I am not having much success. I was thinking of pulling one X800 XT PE from one of my machines at home and bringing it in to test, but I'd rather not.
Any suggestions?
