Ripping drivers from previous builds
We need to find out how to rip drivers from previous builds. For a couple of reasons.
1.) I have both 5365 and 5384 (both x86), in 5365, my wireless and ethernet cards work fine. In 5384, they do not, and the XP drivers wont work with them. 2.) We will be able to make sure our machines that have worked fine with previous builds in the past, are hardware accelerated in future builds, preventing things like this from happening again. Now with my current issue, in vista 5365 like I was saying my wireless and NIC cards are detected and functioning properly. When I go into the device manager and click on the wireless and ethernets cards' properties, it only shows one file associated with the driver, (yournamehere.sys). Where is the inf file that installed said sys file? No .cat file either? That is my current predicament, as I'm sure I wont be able to install them in 5384 with just a sys file. Anyone have any ideas how to rip drivers from vista? Thanks in advance, Shmenge Edit- Just as a side note, my wireless card is an MSI CB54G3/MP54G3 wireless lan and bluetooth combo card, which if you check the beta 1 driver list *is* supported, but is nowhere to be found in beta 2 |

Try the Windows Vista Beta support newsgroups. That's the only advice I can really give.
