my x-fi is actually the Music Edition so i don't know how different this is from the Fatal1ty edition.I bought it due to being on a buget and did not have the cash for the Fatal1ty.

But i must say i am pleased with the update from my previous Audigy 2 pro,it will also depend on the quality of you're speakers also.Logitech z5300 which rock for me with this setup.

Nice rig man!...CLEAN,NEAT with without all that BS on the desk!And I cant stand too see a computer sitting on the floor picking up all that dust....Thats how I keep mine.I run Klipsch Pro Media 5.1's so they ought to kick ass too....Thanks!

Microsoft said it will be out in Jan 2007 and they've said it shouldn't be delayed any further but it has been delayed alot. Pre-RC1 seems a great improvement from Beta 2 though so they might be makeing good progress.

so far ms is sticking to dx10 - vista. i dont see this lasting though. they are going to have to d osomething for xp users or lose a LOT of support for dx10 - at least for a couple of years.

not sure if you seen this thread Microsoft Windows Vista (English 32-bit) Pre-RC1 Build 5536 from yesterday,this was released yesterday for the first 100k downloads,this has now closed for downloads.(i don't kow if the is any more planned yet)

I guess you may of missed out again.

Somewhere I read that RC1 is to be made available on Sept 7. I'm not sure how accurate that is, though. So, I guess we'll keep our ears to the ground.

I waited three years after XP was released before finally upgrading from 98SE. I can wait about $300 before upgrading from XP to Vista.

it's from argos.co.uk.. i have had this desk for 2 years now,exellent amount of space for only £100.

Took a little while to find it via the website but here it is now half the price i paid.

yeah that is the basic version without Aero the home version pro (Aero interface) is $199 = £125 ... still a fair hit

yeah that is what i meant ... also noticed the prices are in canadian dollars ... works out at £95 ... nae doubt it will be bumped up to £99.99

and the full version £142.50 probably end up being £150

Aero is the new "gui" or interface in windows Vista (the standard version will have less cool effects and abilities)

I beleive there are 7 total different variations.

the new build is pretty good, tried it today, its getting better every build, but its still not as good as XP. memory loads while lower than earlier builds is still higher than XP and for gaming its currently a joke. no SLI or CF support yet, and the drivers are pretty flaky with nvidias being a bit better.

Ill give this another year to be worthwhile, until then its dual boot for me.
