logitech setpoint drivers on vista SHOULD work fine

just wanted to tell you guys your cordless logitech mice and keyboards should work fine using setpoint 3.01. even though logitech claims they have not released the driver yet, it looks to be working 100% fine on my end and I used a logitech G7.

the same cannot be said for logitech iTouch and i'm pretty sure they have abandoned the software all together. perfect way to get us to buy one of their stupid new mouse keyboard combos though!

anyways just wanted people to know that.... the driver support is very good so far i've seen

Cube623 is on a distinguished road

same cannot be said for the Logitech Gaming Software though my Driving Force Pro when i had Beta 2 was dectected as a Driving Force and force feedback wouldn't work. Then Microsoft released a Windows Update for the DFP and then it worked just like it did on XP and i was happy

but on their Pre-RC1 build they've seemed to messed around with the game controllers section and once again force feedback won't work even though it detects my steering wheel as a DFP

it takes about 6 months until your drivers will be out for everything. audio and video cards are usually first on the list. peripherals take the longest.

imo...

I never ever install any software/drivers for my mice/keyboard or devices in which windows already has a nice clean version available by default.

My Logitech G5 work beautifully with the windows supplied driver, every button works and less crap loading up in the registry and on startup...

I'ma have to go grab the G7 to see how vista likes it without installing any software.

well its the same as xp. everything basic is adjustable. but if you want to adjust sensitivity presets, tilt wheel and reassign you need setpoint. its uses little ram doesnt bother me at all.

im just pissed off with no cmss/stereo surround. everything is in 2.1 right now unless its 5.1 audio.

Slevin is on a distinguished road

I've got the MX 5000 Laser (Bluetooth) and while the drivers supplied by logitech did install on my vista final installation, they are unstable, crash every so often, and the secure bluetooth setup hangs and will not continue. Anyone have any different experiences with this setup? Thanks.

What's the diff between the standard Logitech mouse drivers and the Setpoint series?

I don't really get it.

Thanks

if you use any bluetooth keyboard or mouse you should use setpoint 3.15, it has bluetooth support. the usual setpoint driver has no bluetooth driver included and its fine for something like the G7 cordless mouse, but installing this driver this can create a hell of a lot of issues for your mouse and keyboard if it is indeed bluetooth. my mx5000 still acts weird at times, but its much better than before because the bluetooth stack was changed or something. a lot of threats were made to logitech and they released it, huge improvement i gotta say

but it should be fine on vista now. i am waiting on my creative drivers next before i migrate

Setpoint 3.15 on Vista makes my G7 Mouse stutter in some games, in Setpoint Mode and
MS standard mode.

Unistalled it and turned back to the Vista native driver, and my games runs smooth again.

Just install the XP mouseware drivers, unless of course you've installed Vista 64 bit.

But Vista asks if the drivers are installed correctly?

So U can choose yes, or install them so they work on Vista (or something)

What do I need to choose?

Works well on windows vista.with one exception with my Logitech cordless MX 3000 keyboard, the onboard scroll wheel don't work.Apart from that no complaints.
