x64 won't install - HELP

I just built my first 64 bit computer. I have an Intel D975XBX motherboard, Intel Core2 duo 6600 processor, X-Fi sound card, 1600x ATI video card, 2 gig of coresair memory. XP 32bit, 64bit, and Vista 32bit all install fine. When I try to install Vista x64 it goes through the install process and then when it is going to boot into vista for the first time I get a blue screen and then it just reboots and does the same thing. The blue screen is shown so fast that I don't have a chance to see what it says. I waited a long time before building myself a 64 bit computer and now I fear that it will not be compatible with Vista. Any ideas?

I found out the problem. It is the ATI X1600 video card that has combatibility issues with dual channel memory. I took one stick at a time out and it worked. I tried both sticks in and I got a blue screen. I swaped out the ATI for a friends gForce card and all was well. Dual channel memory worked OK. I still don't know ultimately what is to blame... the motherboard, the memory, the video card , Vista, or a combination of all. I just hope that the final version of Vista will have fixed this. I'm on my way to buy an nVidea card! Asta la Vista ATI!

I bought an nVidia 7800GTX and it works fine. Now only if I can get drivers for my Canon scanner. They don't even offer drivers for XP Pro x64, or 2003. If these big companies don't offer drivers for x64 I don't see a very brite future for a 64 bit OS.
