Vista audio and graphical issues
Greetings. I've installed Windows Vista x86 Rc1 (clean install) with beta-key and so far the OS is running great. I only have issues with:
nvidia's beta drivers - control panel misses almost all functions (like OC, opengl, video and television); half-life 2/css dont allow HDR and detects directx 0.0 (gets choppy and low fps) - although aero works fully. creative's latest beta drivers - gives 4 minor errors during/after install (no game port and other issues), sound as some cuts, equalizer doesnt work, and so far 5.1 doesnt work (rear speakers dont work, only with stereo surround). I own a P4 2.4ghz@3ghz (sk 478), 7800GS 256mb (AGP), Audigy 4 (internal, 5.1) and Aopen 865PE mobo. Since this is a top-end (almost ) AGP system, i would like some support. cheers.

audigy2 driver doesn't work
I got Vista64 RC1.
I just tried 4 different versions of audigy 2 drivers from the creative.com . First of all, "Creative Autoupdate" doesn't work, I get a message "server is busy". Tried the Vista64 driver, (4 times and wasting 3hrs of my life), tried vista32 drivers; tried WinXP64 drivers and tried WinXP drivers. - None of them worked. Other problems: - I get some serious Memory usage, about 500MBs of RAM from my 1.5Gigs of DDR2 WTF. - It is constantly chomping my Hard drive, even if I am just idling at the desktop with no programs running. I have a 260 Gig HD (230 assigned to Vista partition) so it has all the space it is needed. Last time I had such a horrendous HD activity is when I had like 100 trojans on my PC. Why does Vista needs 13Gigs of hard drive space? either: Microsoft inability to be efficient or There are hidden games installed with the Vista, that needs unlocking and the other reason for such a high price tag on the ultimate version ($299.99), such as UT4K (4.5 gigs), and TES:Oblivion (4.5gigs) and Vista is only taking up 3Gigs. .....right?
