5.4 for me off the top of my head.

My E6850 dual core let me down WTF! (guessing only quads get 5.9)

My poor old S939 system.

If only I could upgrade the CPU without changing the rest of the system...

Nope, S939, DDR1. All running on the DFI Ultra-D motherboard I bought back in 2005.

No real room for upgrade left on this, when I really feel the need for a faster processor, I'll have to build a new rig, and delegate this one to something else.

Well I updated the video drivers and my Vista score went up

Processor 5.4
Memory 5.0
Graphics 5.0
Gaming graphics 5.3
Hard disk 5.4

Still not bad for a laptop that only cost a little less than $1,300 US!

Re: Post your Windows Vista Experience Index

Here's my updated one as of just a few moments ago. Interesting that K_B's and my CPUs get the same score. I'm running my E6700 [default 2.66 GHz] @ 3.2 GHz and the score is the same either way.

What does puzzle me is why my system HDD is scoring so 'low'. It's a SATA drive rated @ 300.

Not exactly sure how this works but perhaps tweaking the hardware you have provides a better result. Look below and you will see what I mean

Yes you are correct because I just upgraded from a 9600gt to an HD4870 and nothing related to the video card changed. Also some of you may have noticed O/Cing your CPU doesn't help your CPU score much either

Ran this tonight exactly the same ...

I would post a Vista Index, but my PC's too old to even run Vista. Hopefully if I get a new rig I'll post mine.

Re: Post your Windows Vista Experience Index

just installed vista on my macbook air, results aren't that surprising

System:
Macbook Air
Core 2 Duo 1.6Ghz
2 Gb DDR 2 667mhz Ram
Intel GMA3100
1.8" 80Gb 4500RPM HDD

Base Score: 3.5
Processor: 4.6
Memory: 4.7
Graphics: 3.5
Gaming Graphics: 3.5
Hard Disk: 4.4

I think that's pretty respectable considering it's pretty much an ultra portable laptop.

In comparison my mac pro (posted earlier) maxes at 5.9 for everything other than the HDD, which scores 5.8
