Windows Vista DirectX/Game Bug
i know its not a full release yet and bugs will be there but i was just wondering if anyone has seen or experienced a bug with gameplay. i have installed Fifa World Cup 2006 it installed fine and the menu part (new game, load game etc) works fine. but when i get to actually playing the game it looks really crappy.
http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/4...taerro1ko7.jpg http://img241.imageshack.us/img241/6...taerro2lv6.jpg i've installed the nVidia Vista BETA Drivers. any help/links would be extremely appreciated. i've searched this forum and on google but so far can only find Vista installation problems ;< also im using the 32-Bit version of Vista, ive also tried installing DirectX 9.0C. thanks for any help. i have a GeForce 6600, all games worked fine on Windows XP. |

Welcome to DH Tish.
Vista's gaming performance is pretty poor, as the drivers just aren't there yet, this has been pretty well documented. Eventually, the drivers will be there, but not yet. Only advice you will get is to play games on XP, as there isn't much else that can be done at this point. |

Vista's gaming performance will also be poor due to overhead, drivers nonwithstanding

My experience so far is that the gaming performance is very good.
But i use a ATI X1900XT. Nvidia Vista beta drivers are not stable and full of bugs.

I finally did some gaming last night on Vista RC2.
Using the same settings I use for OBLIVION in XP Pro, the game performs very well. I played from the beginning up through the "Escape from the Sewers" and then patched the game with the official patch. From there, I went into the Market Place section of the city and have been into several sections of Imperial City. There was, of course, a huge slowdown of the game when the Emperor, Blade, and Dark Assassins are were fighting. But, it didn't bring my system to its knees like it did on the very first time playing when the game first came out. It actually continued to be very playable. |
