Looking for Vista advice please

Ok im a bit curious maybe someone out there has access to the correct channels to get a definitive answer.

With todays multi PC and laptop homes im wondering about the potential cost of an upgrade to Vista. In my house alone I have 2 laptops and 2 PC's how many of these could I install a retail copy of windows Vista on? I seem to remember with XP you could install it on 1 laptop and 1 PC with the same key without any issues. Do we face a potential scenario of having to pay for multiple seperate copies of the software, will keys be available at a small charge or will it be possible to install on multiple PC's? I'd imagine this could be quite a deciding factor for some users as whether to upgrade or not.

Many thanks for any feedback or comments

As I understand it, it will remain the same, basically 1 key per system, but you do not have to purchase more copies of Windows, you can just purchase a license so that the key works with multiple systems. The licenses will range though depending on how many you want to purchase. Also I do believe it matters on which version of Vista you purchase, the Basic and Premium Editions you will probably be able to install on 1 or 2 PC's, the Business, Enterprise and Ultimate editions you probably will be able to install on multiple PC's.

You are kidding me, right? So, the Vista I am using right now just so happens to be the most expensive Vista there is going to be? What will happen to those using the RC1 when Vista is released anyway?

This trial will keep working untill June 2007.

Yes we are testing and enjoying the most expensive version. Ultimate. Droool.

Make sure all your PC's apply to the:
