Deinstalling 100.59 to install 100.64 problem

Hi,

When I did choose the driver to uninstall, I got a nvidia screen with uninstall, then my screen went black and I heard my HDD working
But my screen stayed this way, so I pressed the reset button and started in Safe Mode to clear the remainings of the driver with drivercleaner.net

No issues now, but want to know if somebody else had this problem too!!!

Thx

Yes I had this problem too, and I solved the problem like U did, in safe mode.

The first time I uninstalled the driver, i had that black screen ,and Hdd activity , after
appox. 25 minutes the pc rebooted ,and installed the M$ drivers.

Tried to uninstall this M$ driver ..... I think U know what's happend..... 3 guesses, LOL

System Specs

I had no problems with it. I uninstalled 100.59, and yes it did go black screen for a bit, but then came back on. I'm thinking Vista at that point must have installed the original drivers that came on the DVD to keep the display going. But anyways I rebooted, installed the 100.64s, and everything's fine.

you don't need to unisntall the MS driver as its a basic featureless driver

the reason for uninstalling the nvidia release is because the Control panel can leave files behind which stuffs up future installs.

just install 100.64 over the top of the built in display drivers.
