Can't Install Adobe Reader
Hey Guys,
I downloaded the latest Adobe Reader for Vista, and when I run the program off the desktop it gives me this error "The Temp folder is on a drive that is full or is inaccessible. Free up space on the drive or verify that you have write permission on the Temp folder." Now what is that shananaghans about??! Thanks

Try running it as adminstrator.(it's one of the right click options)

I am in Administrator Mode, and I have also right clicked and opened as Administrator...still the same results.
Thanks,

You could try the FoxIt reader, which is free:
Foxit Software Also, you could try doing an error check on the drive, correcting any errors it finds, and try flushing out your temp folder / files. Maybe you have some cross-linked files or something? |

I have had the exact same problem every time I have tried to install Adobe Reader 8 on a Vista machine. So you are not alone.
This isn't a fix, but what I end up doing is copying the install folder off of a XP box and copy it to the Vista machine. I then install it from the folder that I copied over. Not a real fix, but a workaround. Works every time. |

Sorry,
But how did you exactly do it? Should I download it on my laptop with XP, then use my flash drive to transfer it to Vista? Just found the solution on Adobe's website. Adobe - TechNote : Adobe Reader 8 fails to install on Vista OS

When you get the error find the folder Acrobat has extracted itself to and copy that folder. Quit the installation and install from the folder you copied and all will be well.
The folder will be found here:- C:\Users\(your username)\Appdata\LocalLow\NetOpSystems\Temp\Acrob at Just run the Setup.Exe file |

Adobe Reader 8
Make sure that you have the "User Accounts Control on" If this has been turner off you will receive the error message
"The Temp folder is on a drive that is full or is inaccessible" Once on Adobe should install without a problem.

well, didn't have any problems installing adobe reader, but it's not officially supported yet by Vista either, doesn't come in the list with 800 programs working on Vista
