Hi
I have a Abit IL-90MV motherboard which has a “Integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950". For some reason I'm only able to selected 800x600 or 1024x768 as the screen resolution when running over VGA. I would like to run either 720p on my Samsung LCD TV or maybe 1360x768 (to get 1 to 1 pixel mapping). I'm running the latest driver from Intel. Any suggestions on how to get more resolutions with this card? /Thomas |

Stupid question: Could you do it under XP?

Make sure you have your monitor drivers installed, if they have any.
You probably should of bought a board with AMD/ATI X1250 on it,,, Abit released the F-I90HD may 5th. I'll have mine tomarrow....WooT! Intel's gpu's are always pretty poor quality/performance but yes thier cheap. ATI / NV both have bords with better soultions X300 (ATI) / 6100 (Nvidia) You would of ben far better off. Maybe best to bite the restock fee and do a tradeup. (assumeing you can)

It definitely should support widescreen going by Intel's website. Do you have the latest drivers? Make sure to grab them from here
Edit- If all else fails, I'm almost sure you might be able to force it with Powerstrip http://entechtaiwan.net/util/ps.shtm Last edited by dipstick; Mar 14, 2007 at 03:52 PM. |

I already had a Duo Core CPU, and the Abit motherboard was the only one which I could use for this cabinet, and still get passiv cooling. The reviews I've seen of this Motherboard is ok (not great, but ok). I only need this for Vista Media Center (no gaming etc.) so this GPU should be enough. And I can always add a new video card, but right now I'm more pleased with having a quite and 100% passive cooled system, which does not get hot (or use alot of power). Everything works fine except this resolution issue. I've connected this to a Panasonic 42" HD Plasma, which does not have a monitor driver. I also tried to connect it to my Dell 20" 1600x1200 screen (without installing a monitor driver). I just never had any problems running with the default monitor driver. Anyone having a suggestion, og how to fix this??. If not... I guess I have to see if PowerStrip works on Vista. |

Hi
Just a follow up if anyone has the same problem. It turned out that I needed to tell the Intel Driver that I was not runing on a laptop. In the task tray use the Intel util to change the outpoot from Notebook to Screen (VGA) or Digital Video (DVI), or something like that. Thanks for trying to help. : Thomas |
