Vista Bugged Performance results (post yours!)
I'm starting to find more and more of these that don't make any sense at all.

When vista runs the performance tests after installing, or after you finish installing the drivers suggested that you refresh your results..


In any case, i had ran vista on a PIII 1ghz radeon 9550 512mb of ram and 80GB HD and got a low score obviously...

However i just recently super charged a older computer up to the maximum that motherboard could handle using all the spare parts i could find and it's scoreing in some cases, no better then the 1ghz PIII system..

But it's not the overal system results i'm confused about, it's the Video performance part.

I highly doubt a Radeon 9550 and a Radeon x800XL AIW perform the same let alone should score even remotely close to the same.



anyone else run into these utterly stupid results?

Yes. I’ve the same thought about Vista’s rating system. My primary rig’s (FX60/X1950XTX/2GB of Ram/RAID) rank is around to 4. Many of my friends had the same score with their crappy rigs. Something is surely wrong with Vista’s ranking system.

Probably a driver problem of sort, both the 9550 and X800XL should score something over 3. A base score of 1.0 is automatically assigned to cards that don't support DirectX9, not sure what else could cause that to happen.

If it's working fine, don't worry about it, I didn't even bother running the rating tool on my PC.

the rating tool is automatic apon installing/completeing the vista install..

While the 9550 scores not to great, i do beleive that a 1.0 isn't to far off of accurate... probably a 1.5 at most imo, but the x800xl should at least do a 3ish...

No the Radeon 9550 gets over 3, the 256MB version should be around 3.3. The scores aren't linear in terms of processing power.

My x1900xtx and x1900xt Crossfire eddition (in crossfire mode) only receives a 5.7 or 5.8

How the hell does a 9800pro receive a 5.6 and a x800xt pe receive a 5.9?

Talking about video, or gaming graphics? 9800 pro should be 4.5 for gaming, 1900xt(series) should be 5.7 or 5.8. Either card is 5.9 for non-gaming video.

Regarding the 1.0 scores, they're definately a driver problem. Any Directx9 capable card recieves an automatic 2.0, regardless of speed.
