System Specs

New system, MCE + Vista upgrade, best way?

A friend bought a new system, with Vista upgrade coupon, now I'm probably going to get roped in, so what's the best way, if there's even a choice?

They are fairly basic users, but I don't know if they have any relics that will make booting back into MCE essential (probably not).

I'd generally be inclined to keep it as clean as possible, but not sure how much software came with it, and if it would be easier to carry it forward or re-install.

i used to think i would first try having Vista upgrade version when Vista released since i just thought it's cheaper, but i later decided to keep XP licences, so that i able to continue use it legally. i didn't have time to check into Vista's lic. info, therefor, i still don't know all the fact behind it yet. so at this time i simply buy OEM copies instead.

the upgrade install has never been my favorite way of installing any operating systems, but anyway in this case, i guess it depends on how many commercial software licenses on the system you want to keep... if there is nothing to keep, then you can clean install the Vista upgrade version.
