Is It Worth It

I got a new lap top for christmas it came with a voucher for Windows vista I have not sent it in yet because I did not want to get it if it wasnt worth can anyone tell me is it and what are the main differences I would have to get use to I have Windows XP Meida Center now.

Throw the specs for the laptop up and let us take a look. Should be able to at least give you an idea of the OS experience you can expect. Personally though i'd say yeah go for it anyway, sooner or later you'll want to give it a try and I bet the voucher has an expiry date. Owt for nowt as the saying goes.

I think the upgrade program ended on March 31st so you might be out of luck. You should have sent it in as soon as you got it, even if you were not planning on using it

Vista is worth it but only if you get ultimate because to comes with everything the other versions have. i really like it. i also recomend StarDocks DeskScapes for Vista Ultimate. it

I agree with you, but (and you knew there was a but coming, didn't you? ) I'd add that it#s vital to check that drivers exist for all of your hardware before performing the upgrade, as it saves a lot of heartache later.

Other than that, as someone has already posted, you're bound to need it at some point in the future so go for it, especially as it's free.

Oh, and the voucher should still be good. The last I heard, the company that MS has subcontracted to ship the free upgrades is quite behind with their shipping, so I'm sure your voucher should still be honoured.
