Can't run Aero and videos
i installed Vista Ultimate 32bit and even that i've installed the drivers of the graphics card i can't run videos and i'm getting an error says that i have a problem with my graphics card....
i have an NVIDIA GeForce 6200 TurboCach 128mb i also can't run Aero i can't even see the theme in the theme list.... is this graphics card can run Aero anyway??? and one more thing i wrote in Run the command dxdiag and it says that i have Directs 10 and i think this could be the problem because i don't think this graphics card supports DX10 and i tried to install DX9.0c and it didn't work..... |

It's possible that the graphics card has too little onboard video memory. Vista needs a minimum of 32MB and some of the "6200 Turbocache 128" cards only have 16MB.

Have you tried updating your Windows Experience Score? Make sure you manually run it at least once after installing all drivers. Also if you ever see it in gray color you will have to re run it(usually have to when changing drivers)
Edit- Dont worry about the DX10 only thing; Vista still has and runs DX9. Aero itself doesn't come close to requiring DX10 hardware. Make sure to update your WEI score and windows will automatically enable Aero if your card can run it. |

buddy
i'm running the same video card in my media centre upstairs.... getting THE SAME PROBLEMS AS YOU. but, i got aero working with the drivers that you get with windows update..... aero wont work with nvidia drivers you get from their website. and i can't play videos either, it says that there is something wrong with my video card which is udder bullshit. only thing I can suggest, is try another video card.. ![]() that's the ONLY thing holding me back from using vista as my main OS upstairs.. the lack of video functionality. i need it if its my home theatre box

I ran the same card without a single problem. Aero ran although Flip3D would get choppy.
