Hmm, CS4630 Santa Cruz - CS4630 Game Theater XP, Hmm
Like I said, Hmm.
Hercules recently released a new driver download for Vista 32 bit and XP for their Game Theater XP soundcard. I remember some folks using the Game Theatre XP drivers back in the day with their Turtle Beach Santa Cruz cards. I'm in no hurry to swap my Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro for the old Santa Cruz, but I do have 3 of those things sitting in boxes. And I do recall the sweet sound of the Santa Cruz. Just brainstorming here. I'm sure the Hercules exe would not install the driver on Vista with a Santa Cruz card, but perhaps someone would be interested in extracting that new driver and pointing Vista Device Manager towards that driver folder, updating a non-functional Santa Cruz? The inf would likely require changing the device ID in a few sections ahead of time and of course this would necessitate a forced update, but who knows? It's the same chip. Maybe it would work! Just an idea for someone who might like to try it. I find it interesting that Hercules went to the trouble of providing this driver. Too bad about Turtle Beach not doing the same for the Santa Cruz.
