Sd-616f & Sh-w162c
I have recently installed Vista Ultimate 64bit. I have two DVD drives and neither are recognised under Vista. I installed the software from them but when I go to explorer they are not there. They worked perfectly under XP.
Today they actually came up on the device manager but with exclamations. I tried to update the drivers but it came back and told me there was no new software available. I have now come to a halt with them. I have searched the net and updated the firmware but cannot fnd drivers to get them to work with Vista. Is anyone able to help or advise. Please Thanks Mark |

Hmm...it could be an IDE driver issue. How are they configured, and what MB do you have?

Hi,
They are on IDE2 as cable select. Nothing changed since leaving xp. Its a gigabyte board K8 Triton Socket 754 8237R+. I tought IDE but dismissed it pretty quick because there was no change from XP. I will have another look though. In the device manager the error code is 39 for both. If hat helps Thanks |

I'll do some more research on it this weekend. Have you tried removing, and adding the drives?

Maybe change one drive to Master and the other to Slave?
