vista & counter-strike

Ever since I installed vista on my laptop counter-strike fps have been dropping. I used to get 100fps with xp but for some reason with vista it hasnt been able to stay consistent. Its even worse with the 7.4 catalyst driver. Does anyone have any tips or advice?? Any help would be apperciated.

Computer Specs:
P4 3.4ghz
2gig of ram
mobility ati x800
60gig hd

Im a Nvidia man myself but as far as Vista goes keep tring the new'st drivers .Nvidia just recently came out with a more stable driver package.I even tried a program called Game Acelerater it tweaks out your settings ,and it's working great it's only been 3 day's though.keep trying
