Vista built in File extractor?

Does anyone else have the problem in which you experience huge time lines for extracting even the smallest .zip file. I have some zipped word documents and it took 40 minutes to extract.

It's horridly bugged... go and download WinRar, and things will be all good. Microsoft is aware of this issue, it appears to be related to specific zip compressions used.

I never noticed any problems when I needed to use it. I haven't used it too much though since I loaded up 7zip.

Vista seems to have trouble moving/copying/deleting large amounts of data. I get the same problems using 7-zip. Google "Vista's long goodbye" if you want any other information, there's loads of it.

i haven't had a hitch with moving large (200-500gb) at a time, copying or anything like that just yet.

just the ZIP formats, i've tried to unzip a 100kb zip and it took nearly an hour to do it.... while a few other zips seem to take a split second (100mb zip) .. go figure
