Conexant AC97 Vista drivers ! (laptop)

I have this laptop

When XP was getting too slow and BSODs were all over the place i installed stipped down windows vista ultimate. Everything works well except the integrated sound.

From everest i read it is conexant ac97 builtin ich6.

So far i have tried alot conexant drivers and forcing to xp method but nothing had worked.

So maybe you can post your laptop specs (with conexant audio) and what driver you used to get it working.

More tips n tricks would be appreciated.

have you tried letting Windows find the latest driver software for the problem device on the internet?

No luck, scanned trough windows(microsoft) update several times.

Not really let it look from internet, will give a try.

open the Windows's Device Manager applet... then expand the node "Sound, video and game controllers", and tell me everything you see under that include the error code.

Hmm... this is wierdest thing....
Firsti when i tried to install that driver (got from first link) it was unsuccessful, but now i tried it and it worked with no problem.

Very wierd.

PS. Where i can have the UP icon back in the explorer, dont like the back and forward very much. Missing it really when downloading things (have to start from my computer when saving).
