I just got a newlaptop with vista Home Premium and In trying to acquire music, DVDs, and other media by way of downloads or by ripping them, I have constantly been plagued by vista preventing my actions. For example it has restricted me from both ripping a DVD I own and from playing downloaded music. What gives? I was used to XP and doing whatever I wanted no problem. and it seems like I can't do anything with Vista. Is there anything I can do to avoid the "right check" or whatever it is called that it does? I really hope I haven't hit a dead end here....
Thanks in advance for any help..... John |

What programs are you using.. i've yet to run into an issue ripping a single CD... although i don't rip movies very often, but using AnyDVD HD, i've ripped all the HD-DVDs i own.

Same. I have been able to rip all of the cd's and dvd's with no issues. I use DVD Shrink, DVD Fab Decryptor (for the AArcos protected DVD's), and FreeRIP for ripping cd's.
