vista makes networking too difficult now. i just wanna share my damn drives nice and easy but with all these permissions junk and elevated security i dont need (hopefully I will in the future) just sharing each drive in my network is more complex than it should be.

i followed this guide to allow everyone to have full access to all folders and files on all my drives with no luck

i was able to add everyone to the permissions, BUT it doesn't allow access to key folders like windows, program files, documents and settings etc...when I do add the folders it says access is denied. what do i do to get full control over all drives on both computers. security is not a big issue for me since i'm on a home network.

Make a folder within each drive, move all the files there, share the folder for "everyone" with either read only access, or co owner (full write and read) access.

yeah it's kinda irritatign that you can't share an entire drive by itself.

that can't be the proper solution, others got a whole drive working properly

I've had the whole drive working at one point to, but it's appears to be completely random, obviously a vista bug of sorts....

i can actually see the shared drives, even with full everyone access granted, trying to open them results in access denied....

it's a simple solution, not to difficult at all, really has zero impact on the whole thing either (move everything into a single folder which takes about 1 second reguardless of the huge GB of data that are being moved, just don't copy ) Stupid solution maybe, but it still works.
