But, it's definitely the RAM that needs to be worked on. |

Here's a copy of where my memory is at right now, what would suggest I try setting the memory at, DS? How much do I need to raise the voltage?

your RAM (G.Skill F2-6400PHU2-2GBHZ) has factory specs of memory timings 4-4-4-12 at speed DDR2-800 and at 2.0V-2.1V
manually enter memory speed, timings, and voltage in your BIOS to match the specs. 4-4-4-12 at DDR2-800 and 2.0V |

Exactly what PanginJr said. If for any reason it wants to balk at those settings, try them with the voltage at 2.1.
Per your images posted, it's definite that the mobo has auto set the RAM to 'safe' speeds.

After i got home from work tonight and had some dinner I turned the computer on and set up the new memory parameters as you have suggested above. No problems sofar. One more question, should I set the Command Rate to 1T instead of 2T? Changing the memory settings doesn't seem to have changed my score in Vista. It's still at 5.4. Thanks for your help, guys. I appreciate it.
![]() ![]() It's a couple of hours later and I've tried setting the Command Rate to 1T but when booting back into Windows I got a BSOD, so I went back into the Bios and reset the Command Rate to 2T.

Yeah, as I mentioned previously, if you set it to 1T and have problems, you'll need to reconfigure the memory.
Now, try it the other way around. Set it to 1T, but raise the CAS settings up one notch. If you can get 1T to work, it's better. You can also try setting up the RAM and CPU as Unlinked and try pushing the RAM FSB up a bit at a time, too. If you do this, bump the voltage to the RAM up one notch to help overcome any deficiency. Good luck! |

Ahhh.....success. Raising the CAS setting to 5 and upping the voltage to 2.05 did the trick. I was able to set the 1T and boot into windows.
![]() Well, almost. About 20 minutes after booting into windows I got another BSOD.

I wouldn't be afraid to boost the voltage even to 2.1 or 2.2. I've had a few RAM vendors even suggest as high as 2.4. BUT, I'm really not into frying my RAM.

Out of curiosity, those scoring 5.9 HDD wise... are you running RAID setups?
I'm sitting @ 5.6 for some reason, with a single 320gb Seagate SATA 3.0 hard disk. |

Nope, no raid setup. Just a single HDD like you. Except my HDD is 250 GB (also a Seagate).

for a single Seagate SATA drive i think i get about the same subscore 5.6-5.7 as yours. my disk-drive subsystem is very fast i think i should have 6.9 by now if there is a subscore for it, lol. |
