August, '07 DX Upgrade

Every once in awhile I try to find some information on DX 10 to see whats happening with it? I came across this on Microsoft's Download Page today. Is it worth installing on my computer or is this just another beta release for DX 10?

These updates typically contains code that may be required for brand new or upcoming games, without changing code included in previous versions. Update if you feel like it, or let the next new game you install do it for you if needed.

On the contrary i'd double check if this is the dx version that has DX10.1 as that particular release can cause havok with soundcards.
