Windows Update in Vista
I just deleted the shortcut to this for manual, how do I manually readd the shortcut to "Windows Update" to the Vista Startmenu? I know in XP it used to be an exe in the system32 folder, however I cannot find it in there in vista.
Thanks in advance. |

R-click on Start button, select Explore or Open All Users, and then within the folder create a New Shortcut,
type in %SystemRoot%\system32\wuapp.exe for the location of the item, name this shortcut Windows Update, and then R-click on the newly created shortcut, select Properties, under the tab Shortcut click Change Icon..., then at the Look for icon in this file: type in %SystemRoot%\system32\wucltux.dll, then once the shortcut to the "Windows Update Application Launcher" (wuapp.exe) is compleately created and with the appropriate icon, after this you can R-click on it and select "Pin to Start Menu" if you like. |
