Anyone else recently having issues installing XBox360 HD-DVD on Vista?

I've plugged in the xbox360 on about 15 different windows Vista machines, let windows detect it and install it's own drivers for it, NEVER had a problem, Except once when they were new and only the memory controller drivers couldn't find a driver, but it always appeared that the drivers were pulled of online microsoft servers via windows updates when plugged in.

However

I've now ran into something strange.

Apparently everything BUT the HD-DVD Drive itself REFUSES to find anything, keeps requesting a CD/DVD for installation after failing to find viable drivers for the device...

Tried this one 3 other machines.

Wonder if Microsoft decided to drop thier own Xbox360 HD-DVD driver support under windows vista?

Can't install it manually.... no device options remotely close to it..

i've ruled out microsoft issue..

it's a botched Vista install.. where it doesn't properly recognize USB devices that are attached....

This is the most common problem i've had with vista... i should have recognized it emediately... but i only noticed after plugging in a few USB flash drives, that none of them would recognize and be unuseable.... which is a bit of obvious problem as vista and XP should read them problem free.. (specially when i confirmed they work on another x64 vista fresh install i did after this machine)
