Hearing myself on speakers
I'm having a bit of a problem. It was easy to fix in XP, but with Vista I can't seem to find where to fix it.
When I use my Mic, it's playing thru the speakers. Now in XP all you needed to do was open up the Sound panel, make sure that mic was showing in PLAYBACK, and mute it. I can't find that option in Vista. Can someone point me to the fix? Thanks.

Control panel > sound > select output device > properties > level > find and mute mic.

No such options here.
When I open SOUND, all i see is PLAYBACK, RECORDING, SOUNDS. I have "Show Disabled Devices" and "Show disconnected Devices" clicked, and no Microphone shows up in PLAYBACK. The only things I have enabled are SPEAKERS in PLAYBACK, and Microphone in RECORDING. Note: I am using an Audigy 2 ZS sound card.

Yes, select speakers from the playback tab, and hit properties, then go to level from there.
