Hi,
I bought a HP Pavilion dv2700 notebook about 2 weeks ago. It's running 32-bit home premiuum, 2G ram, nVidia GeForce 8400m GS, Intel core 2 duo @ 2GHz, and hard drive capacity:100 gigabytes. Today i logged in to my notebook, automatic updates shows 3 updates are available, so i install them. when it's about to done, BSOD pops up and terminate the pc. After i reboot and logged on, the notebooks works fine about 20 or 30 seconds, then everything just froze (or really lagging),even the mouse and ctrl+alt+delete, then i force shut the pc and reboot it again.I tried 4 or 5 more time and still gets the same result. I decided to use system repair by pressing f8, i only hav one choice, system restore, there is no back up and i don't hav home premium cd. It back the pc to when i install or haven't install the updates (not sure) and requires me to restart the notebook. I couldn't see the result if it's successful or not because " the system fails to starts because the change of hardware or software bah bah bah..." and strongly recommend me to launch the repair tools. well, after the repairing i logged on to my account and the notebook FROZE AGAIN!!! so i don't know what to do now ........Can Some One Please Help Me?? |

Hi there and welcome to DriverHeaven!
I strongly recomend you to take the laptop back to the store and see if they can fix it. It sounds like some update has gone south and that has caused some damage to the Vista installation. And the only solution what I see is that the Vista would be reinstalled, that means that all your data will be lost. So the guys in the store might be able so salvage the data and do the installation in there. |
