graphic corruption/glitch on Vista aero desktop

Hi:

From time to time, often but not always on startup, I experience corruption of the graphics in the form of a sort of greenish overlay with clear rectangles over certain parts of the aero desktop on Vista Home Premium SP1 32bit.

the corruption appears in different places at different times. Here are a few examples:

This is on a Toshiba Satellite Pro A200 with ATI mobility HD2600 256M, with unmodified Toshiba drivers (8.452).

Anyone ever seen anything similar or have any idea about fixes? thanks!

I should add that this happens generally on booting or coming out of standby (maybe every fifth time?) and then eventually goes away. Also, I have played Bioshock all the way through on this computer with no graphics issues whatsoever, and i've never seen any graphics problems anywhere else (DVD playback or anything) except in aero - that's why i wonder if it's somehow a problem with the interaction between Vista and the driver
