exclamation Need help with wmp video codec

Hi everybody.
I'm a newbie in the forum and asking for help.Ican't see video files in WMP since i download QUICTIME.I uninstalled QUICTIME but it doesn't work.I downloaded codec package from microsoft,not work.I looked for download wmp 11 for vista h.premim,isn't in microsoft for download. What else i can do?
my specs:vista home premium,intel pentium d.core 1.73,
i'll appreciate your help

System Specs

Hi there and welcome to DriverHeaven!

The QuickTime installation won't mess with the Windows media player at all. It uses it's own codec's to decode the .mov files and it won't play windows media files at all. So it can't be the cause of your problems. The issues you are seeing might be caused that the windows media codec's are some how corrupted.

[EDIT] I don't have easy fix for this issues. But you could try to play the files with some other media player software like VLC.

System Specs

You could maybe download MediaInfo and load one of the video files up in it and it'll tell you which audio and/or video codec(s) you require for that file. It's a longshot, but worth a try.
