??? Logitech MX500 Optical Mouse

Hey all~

Does this Mouse work on Windows Vista?

Apparently I heard set point is for blue tooth, I have NO NEED for blue tooth.

Anyway, I heard MouseWare is more like... EvilWare.

Is this mouse "PLUG-'n'-PLAY"?

So what are the default options on this mouse if it works for vista without any of it's drivers installed?

And what are the customizable buttons / features that drivers use, and what driver/s should if I was to use these customizable buttons?

Thank you all~

~Hawky.

AFAIK, additional buttons need SetPoint to work.

Re: Logitech MX500 Optical Mouse

Install the latest SETPOINT drivers, and then install uberOptions.

uberOptions Wiki | Main / uberOptions

uberOptions is 'donationware'...no charge but he will accept any donation you would like to send.

uberOptions adds the functionality that Setpoint SHOULD have had to start with. It allows you to make 'profiles' for virtually any application, and assign functions, actions, or keystrokes to ANY of the buttons.

With just Setpoint, there are buttons on my MX Revolution that I can't 'program'. Once I installed uberOptions, it opened up ALL the buttons. Definately a 'must have' application if you have a multi-button Logitech mouse.

Re: Logitech MX500 Optical Mouse

Thanks o.O

I'm aiming for the MX518 now actually ha ha.

Anyway, What would be the Pro's + Con's of a Metal Mouse?
Like...
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...SL._SS500_.jpg

Wouldn't hand presperation / sweat ruin the metal? The colour perhaps?

And would a metal mouse at all.......Rust?

I wonder how the left + right click is divided up xD

Re: Logitech MX500 Optical Mouse

The MX500 is effectively obsolete, and no longer supported by the latest SetPoint. I strongly recommend you upgrade, as the newer mice are a lot nicer.
