"Encrypting File System" message

I started getting "Encrypting File System: Back up your file encryption key". I first got it at work, and now I'm getting it at home. I don't think I've done anything unusual, and I certainly have no idea why I'd have anything encrypted that I need to back up.

Any idea?

I used to get things like that on Windows 3.1 and WIndows 95.
