Its quite unfortunate IE8 is a buggy mess, worse than any piece of MS software I have encountered to date (most all my experiences with MS stuff is fine), so I uninstalled it. But I am left with a bug where certain sites will not open WMP11 and run it there. It just goes to a blank page, then I go back and try again and it keeps trying to load forever. I uninstalled and restored to default settings for IE7 but something got screwed and now its messed. Same issue on my laptop that has IE8 running.

Anyone know where I could probably try and fix it?

this is why i test software on my secondary work machine first
IE8 is horrible... i will not install it on my home computer
Firefox or Google Chrome ... both are at least 10 times faster

i really like chrome, but i hate firefox. IE7 has been good to me though. only had one small bug but i find the interface superior to firefox. IE8 has a great interface, just extremely poor coding. They could learn from the open source community. But its left some funny remnants I cant get rid of, I will reformatting soon though since I have upgraded my mobo and vid card.

after having loaded about 50 computers with IE8..... i've yet to have a call back issue on it.. actually IE8 solved some unique issues....

The only option is an attempted restore (ugly imo) or a attempted reinstall of ie8 and uninstall again.

otherwise format/reinstall

really? that's quite interesting. I get failed loading pages and the compatability mode does next to nothing for me. Most of my issues are on pr0n sites! hahaha. obviously I won't list em here

And there is likely a good reason a number of them don't work..... since majority of the viruses i've been cleaning up off peoples computers has been DUE to porn surfing....

actually its fairly clean sites, its more compatability really. But I found odd periods of me loading a new tab (while doing school work I SWEAR) and IE just waiting for minutes to load a new page. Then the issue disappears for an hour and reappears.

There is no way of "reinstalling" IE7 for Vista though without reinstall Vista or reformatting?

not that i'm aware of as vista comes with it preinstalled..

you could fiddle with doing a repair install... but i've had not so great results doing that with vista.....
