NOD32 and Vista SP2

As Vista SP2 has hit standalone download today problems are being reported with NOD32 and Vista SP2. NOD32 is very popular due to its very low system footprint and high detection rate but it does not seem to work well with Vista SP2. ESET have so far declined to comment on the issue but you can find more information here

Metallian is on a distinguished road

Re: NOD32 and Vista SP2

Running the NOD32 installer as administrator fixed it for me.

This page explains how to do that:
http://www.symantec.com/connect/down...ext-menu-vista

(I had UAC already disabled b.t.w.)

Re: NOD32 and Vista SP2

Or jump down to version 3. Version 4 of NOD32 is utter crap. ESET has screwed up multiple times on version 4 and should consider rethinking how version 4 is made, because something has clearly gone very wrong.

Still using 3 here (3.0.684 to be exact), and haven't run into any issues. Even did a no-no, and I updated to SP2 with it installed. Thankfully (more like, "THANK YOU JESUS!") it went fine.
