No problem , you can also try XP if there is drivers for it.

My dad have the same problem with Dell. He has Dell inspiron 1525 (C2D 2.0 , 2GB ram ), what a garbage ! weak chassis , emits heat like you are near volcano , Bluetooth hardware faulted after 1 year . I installed different vista versions couples of times and still get BSOD and freezing. Wanted to install xp but the damn Dell don't support this laptop with xp drivers

it gives you an option??? I don't remember seeing an option like that when i installed it on mine?

i'm planning on formatting the windows partition of the hard disk, then reinstall. will it still give me that option?

Re: HELP! my sister bought a DELL with VISTA

yup.... you probably never saw the option because you installed the OS with the CD key straightaway, (CD key has a code that automatically selects the assigned OS version)

had you decided to go without the CD key it wouldve given you the install option.

if you use the Dell CD key it should spit out home premium automatically

I've YET to come across a single Vista OEM product key plastered on a prebuilt machine that doesn't work straight away with a microsoft supplied OEM disc....
